Monty Noble (Australian captain in early 1900s) smashed a six out of the Sydney Cricket Ground which smashed a window on the SECOND floor of a factory across the street … of course, there is no footage of it, but it happened, and it was a bloody big six by all accounts!!
Mike Proctor took the long stick to Ashley Mallett in Australia’s last tour of South Africa before they got kicked out of international sport for their apartheid policy in the early 1970s. Apparently the ball landed in a wagon of a goods train and ended up 320 odd kilometres away! Let’s see any modern-day player hit a ball that far!!

Cricket trivia book: batting section, biggest hits.
The longest recorded six in history was hit by CI Thornton off Lionel King at the county ground at Hove on August 25, 1876. It apparently measured 168 yards and 2 feet – though sources give varying figures between this distance and 160 yards. This is generally agreed to be the greatest ever hit.
(In some books, you’ll find about a 175 yard hit by one W Fellows in 1856. It is incorrect. It has been established that Fellows’ 175 yards was not from hit to the spot where the ball landed, but from hit to the final resting place of the ball).
You can easily google for more info on the Thornton hit.
I am not quite sure about the record in a first class match (Thornton and Fellows made their hits during practice) but I believe it is a 160 yarder by Vivian Crawford
Just watched a biggest six by Mitchell Johnson (Aus) against sri lanka, it was 125 metre Big , i just do not have video for that match..will update it if ever got that video.
